This policy covers the Sheet Zip browser add-on and the sheetzip.com website.
1. Summary
Sheet Zip works with PDF files and ZIP archives on your own device. The files you open are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never receive them. The add-on sends no installation, device, attribution or uninstall reports to an API. It can notify its own landing page about installation and the default search choice, as described below. Browser searches using Yahoo by Sheet Zip go directly to Yahoo.
2. Scope
This policy applies to the Sheet Zip add-on distributed through Firefox Add-ons, and to this website. It does not cover third party sites you reach from here, including the Firefox Add-ons listing, which has its own policy.
3. The files you open
We do not receive, store, transmit, or process the contents of any file you open in Sheet Zip. We do not receive your file names, page counts, thumbnails, or anything derived from your documents.
PDF and ZIP work happens in the extension page or the website demo tab running in your browser, using the files already on your device. The add-on bundles the tool code rather than fetching it from a content delivery network.
This is structural rather than a promise about server behaviour. There is no upload endpoint for your documents. The add-on background context, which persists between pages, never receives file data of any kind.
4. Landing-page messages and local data
The add-on does not send installation, device, attribution, search or uninstall events to an API. It does not send periodic usage reports.
During installation, the add-on can tell the original Sheet Zip landing page that installation completed and whether its default search option was accepted. These messages contain status flags only. They contain no document data, search terms, installation identifiers, device details or referral values. They are sent only while Firefox's optional technical and interaction data permission is granted, and only to an eligible Sheet Zip HTTPS page outside a private window.
The add-on saves your setup choice in Firefox. While installation finishes, it briefly keeps the original landing page and search-choice status in temporary browser storage. It clears that pending state when the flow ends and does not send the page address to the website.
5. Installation messages and your choices
Firefox offers an optional technical and interaction data setting for this add-on. The add-on checks that permission before sending each installation or default-search status message to the original landing page. If you decline it or turn it off later, no further messages are sent. The landing page may then have no installation or search result to show.
The original landing page can receive one installation notice and one final search-choice notice. These messages let that page respond to the installation result. They are separate from API event reports, which the add-on does not send.
You can review Firefox's optional data setting under Add-ons and themes, Extensions, Sheet Zip, Permissions and data. The file tools work with that setting on or off. Completing the welcome page and changing your default search engine are separate actions.
6. Search
This add-on requests permission to update your default search engine to Yahoo. Firefox presents the search change separately from completing the welcome page. You can change your default search engine at any time in Firefox settings.
When you search using Yahoo by Sheet Zip, Firefox sends your query directly to Yahoo at search.yahoo.com. The extension does not receive, store or relay your search terms. Yahoo handles the query under its own privacy policy. The file workspace has no web search box, and working with files does not submit a search.
7. Uninstalling
The add-on does not register an uninstall reporting URL or send an uninstall event. Removing the add-on does not delete documents you have saved on your device.
8. Network requests and IP addresses
Visiting this website sends requests to the website and the services its pages load. Searches using Yahoo by Sheet Zip go directly to Yahoo. Sending the contact form sends your entered name, email address and message through FormSubmit to Sheet Zip support. Each receiving service can see your network IP address. These website and search requests are separate from local file processing.
9. Cookies
The add-on does not read or write website cookies and does not copy referral or attribution values from them. Website cookies are separate from the add-on.
Our website and services may set cookies used for attribution, so that a referral is credited correctly. These are not used to follow you around unrelated websites and are not sold.
10. Data retention
The add-on has no API installation or attribution reports to retain, and its QA status lines are not stored. Because file processing does not upload your files, we do not hold a server copy to recover or delete. For information about website records or messages you have sent to support, contact us through the contact page.
11. Children
Sheet Zip is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, we will update this page. Continuing to use the add-on after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
13. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent through our contact page. A plain language walkthrough of the same ground is on the plain language page.
